Welcome to week 7 of the One Room challenge! Only 1 week to go! (AHH!) For a refresher of my progress, check out week 1, week 2, week 3, week 4, week 5 and week 6, and take a look at my reel for some more behind-the-scenes into this week's progress.

Painting a creamy bright high-gloss trim

Painting the trim was the final step in my painting journey. I re-taped the walls and got to work painting with a small angled brush. The color that I chose is a Benjamin Moore color match of Farrow & Ball's Yearbrige Green. It is the same color I used on the ceiling but instead, the trim is a luxurious high gloss.

I felt a bit of panic after the first coat when seeing how light and streaky the paint looked. To achieve the flawless creamy gloss finish that I was going for it ended up taking me three coats plus a final round of touchups which ended up taking MUCH longer than I anticipated... but it ended up looking exactly the way that I hoped.

After the trim dried I peeled off the tape, did a final round of touch-ups and hung my new shades from my favorite local shop Sew Lovely by Kelly which adds the perfect pop of color. Once the paper was removed from the floors, it was extremely validating to see that the room had already just come alive, even without any furniture.

Stay tuned for my final week (!) of the One Room Challenge where we install the cabinetry, place the furniture, and bring all of the finishing touches together! It is almost time for the official before and after. Feeling extremely excited to almost be crossing the finish line.

As always, check in on the other participant's progress on the One Room Challenge website for more inspiration.
